Welcome to Kelmview Farm

Our little farm is located in the foothills of the southern Adirondack Mountains, a beautiful place in upstate New York where plentiful peaks and valleys, lakes and rivers are just a short distance away. The silhouette of Kelmview Mountain, (more like a grand hill) rises over the north side of the horizon, offering a backdrop to everything we do here. It felt fitting to name the farm after this trusty guardian when the adventures in farming began.

A delightful bed of zinnias provide late season color, framing the view of our one hundred year old barn.

We initially began by growing vegetables in a small garden patch, and planted blueberry bushes which were more than happy to thrive in our acidic soil. I dappled in perennial gardens around the property, finding that I often preferred the native plants to fill in and populate our garden beds. Watching the birds and butterflies visit the newly planted gardens has always been such a thrill!

We have left dedicated areas in our field for native plants such as goldenrod which supports wildlife, beneficial insects, and birds.

I have worked in healthcare for many years, but like so many others life was uprooted with the pandemic. A change in circumstances led me to trust my intuition, and realize I needed to explore a different direction. I embarked on a journey where I can feed my creative passions, become immersed in nature, and spread the joy that seasonally grown flowers can bring. I am a true believer in the healing power of nature; for the grower, the viewer, and the receiver. Connection to nature and the benefits it can bring to our well being and mental health is truly my “why” for what I have chosen to pursue. Flowers have power, as do all of the wonders that exist beside us if we slow down to look with eyes opened.

Never in a dress, always in barn boots - this photo was taken just for fun!

I am so glad that you are here and I hope you choose to spend some of your time sharing your love for nature, flowers, and the creative process with me. You will find talk of flowers and farming, natural wonders, mental health and the ability of nature to help us heal. Steep your tea, stir your coffee, and stay for a moment before you move on with the rest of your day.

With gratitude -
